  1. Short:    Xfig v1.7 - a structured drawing tool. 68000(+) & MUI

  6.  This is an Amiga port of an X11 structured drawing tool  that lets the user
  7. interactiely create and manipulate on objects such as lines/circles
  8. rectangles/splines/text and other elements.

  10.  Xfig can produce output in several different formats: Encapsulated PostScript, 
  11. IBM-GL (HP/GL), Pic, PiCTeX, LaTeX, box, epic, eepic, eepicemu, textyl, tpic, X11 Bitmap,
  12. X11 Pixmap and gif.
  13.  
  14. This is the binary part of the program. Examples and docs are in xfig_docs.lha
  15. If you have a key-file you'll also need the transfig and fig2dev
  16. programs that are in xfig_support.lha. New versions of xfig_docs and xfig_support
  17. has been uploaded along xfig6.lha.

  19. SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS
  20.     
  21. This is a 68000 version of xfig as someone asked for it.
  22. The use of datatypes still requires os3.0, but there is a slight chance
  23. it will run on 2.04, but stay away from anything that tries to use datatypes
  24. as there aren't any checks to see if it is available or not..
  25. Also the interface is quite big so a 640x512 screen is minimum. (640x450 +-)
  26. I'm amazed if a lot of people has this configuration so until I see
  27. a registration requesting 68000 I'll hold the xfig_support 68000 version.
  28. Also 4 mb of ram may come in handy..

  30. This hasn't been tested much, so I guess you can call it beta..

  34.   Improved upon the flip operation as it didn't redraw the region which the flip object left.
  35.   Command line arguments didn't work too well..
  36.   Thought about this env. var. x11home and couldn't find any reason for it not to be an assign.

  40.   Updated the program to the latest X11 version 3.1.4. (lots of improvements..)
  41.   Compressed images (.Z or .gz) are uncomressed with uncompress or gunzip.
  42.   In order to help GIF into obscurity it has been removed..and replaced with iff.
  43.   Added the xpm output format.
  44.   1 bitplane text/images didn't get the correct color in output to image-files.
  45.   Added support for datatypes loading of images.
  46.   Added dr2d import. (only outline)
  47.   Improved cursor handling.
  48.   Setenv's are gone (except 'X11HOME') and replaced with entries in AmigaDefaults.
  49.   Images/rotated text problems with gfx cards hopefully fixed.
  50.   Added a missing 'size' option in loading of images.
  51.   The background color now actually controls the background color..
